Leader as Coach
The programme where leaders practise on their own hardest conversations.
A disciplined environment for exercising influence responsibly with real situations, guided reflection, and feedback that doesn't flatter.
How it looks like
8-16 leaders per cohort
3-6 months duration, typically
In-person or virtual delivery
1:1 coaching and mentoring (depending on the programme design)
Five Practices
Each one names a capacity, then builds it through practice in real contexts of influence. Nothing here is delivered as content only.
Attention and self-knowledge
PRACTICE 1
Notice
What holds your attention determines what you lead toward. Leaders map their own patterns — what they reach for under pressure, and what it costs the people around them.
Focus: Reactivity patterns, Impact vs. Intent, 360 input
Presence without performance
PRACTICE 2
Listen
The discipline of being with a person rather than managing them. Practised in triads on real situations, with feedback on what actually happened rather than what was intended.
Focus: Deep listening, Presence, Live Practice
Disagreement without fracture
PRACTICE 3
Challenge
What holds your attention determines what you lead toward. Leaders map their own patterns — what they reach for under pressure, and what it costs the people around them.
Focus: Candour, Repair, Difficult Conversation
Judgement under load
PRACTICE 4
Decide
Holding complexity without collapsing it into false certainty. Leaders work their own live decisions in the room, with the group as pressure and the coach as mirror.
Focus: Complexity, Ethical Clarity, Decision rights
Responsible use of power
PRACTICE 5
Hold
Authority as something held on behalf of others. Where the programme lands: what each leader will do differently, who will hold them to it, and how it will be visible.
Focus: Power & authority, Enterprise view, Commitments
